Our scheduled speaker is Kieran J. O'Rourke, CPCU, from Cannasure Insurance Services.
Kieran is the Director of Underwriting at Cannasure Insurance Services in Westlake, Ohio. He led the effort to write and build -- and now leads Cannasure’s MGA platform. Cannasure began in 2009 as a wholesale broker with the singular purpose of helping legal marijuana businesses secure insurance products at a reasonable cost. It is now one of the leading marijuana insurance providers in the industry.
Kieran’s career of nearly 33 years includes a broad range of commercial lines responsibilities with Westfield, Cincinnati, National Interstate, and AmTrust, plus MGA experience with Energi Insurance Services. He now finds himself back where it all began, in underwriting.
A graduate of The University of Akron, Kieran holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, as well as the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations. Now retired from his civic duties, Kieran held elected office for over 20 years as a Trustee on the Village of Seville’s (Ohio) utility board, which serves 1,900 electric, water, and sewer customers.
