Chapter Meeting

September Town Hall Meeting and Luncheon

09/11/18 11:30am to 1:00pm

The theme of this meeting is all about you, our fellow members.

For title sake, let’s call the style of the September meeting a Town Hall.  It is your chance to be heard, to express your opinion, to tell us how you want to derive value from your Chapter membership and to be able to demonstrate your professionalism to your colleagues the way you want to express it.

Our Chapter President, Dale Halon, will be leading the discussion and encouraging the sharing of collective thought.  Our plan is to have a large, blank sheet of paper to document the conversation of the short time we’ll have together. A sample of the areas the board would like specific direction from are listed below.

  • Lunch meetings. Should we have options of other times such as breakfast or after work?
  • Are networking meetings valuable? Why and how to make them valuable.
  • Are social events (Clippers, happy hour, golf outing) valuable? Why and how to make them more valuable if we continue.
  • Our Chapter’s role of good works events such as out support of Manna Café and Toys for Tots. We have a long history. What can we do to make participation attractive or should we discontinue?
  • What is the perception of your designation? How can we make it more valuable for you? How can  we do this together?
  • Do we host enough professional development opportunities (luncheons, panel, etc.)

How can our chapter get more agents involved? Many of them have CPCU designations as well.

  • What issues do you have at your company to be involved in chapter activities whatever they are? Can we help?

This list is far from exhaustive. We hope to hear lots of points made whether positive or not so positive. We want to continually improve our Chapter so all ideas are welcome and there will be no hard feelings.  Again, the objective is to find the best mix of membership value for everyone. So please think about these and other ideas as you enjoy summertime activities.  We’ll discuss anything within reach of the Chapter and look forward to what I expect to be a lively discussion with lots of ideas we can take forward with us together.

Your attendance also automatically enters you into a raffle of several prizes, including a pair of tickets to the OSU Vs Indiana football game on October 6. Lunch, of course, is always included.

Menu: Sliders - burgers, chicken and portobello mushroom sliders, potato salad, tossed salad and assorted cookies.
